AA Training Academy offers an accredited Hydrogen Vehicle Awareness Course
The AA Training Academy, in collaboration with Autotech Training, has gained accreditation to provide the IMI’s Level 1 award in Hydrogen Vehicle Awareness.
With Ireland actively seeking sustainable solutions to achieve its net-zero emissions targets, there’s a growing interest in hydrogen. Analysis from Aurora Energy Research suggests that Irish green hydrogen production could exceed projected domestic demand by over 100kt/year by 2030, potentially fostering a robust export industry.
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology has attracted substantial investment in recent years, with a joint government-industry study projecting that over 1.5 million hydrogen-powered vehicles could be on UK roads by 2030.
In line with its commitment to supporting and enhancing the skills of the automotive aftermarket amid the ongoing evolution of vehicle technology and alternative fuels, the AA Training Academy, powered by Autotech Training, collaborates with awarding bodies to offer cutting-edge training courses.
Expanding its successful electric vehicle training portfolio, the AA Training Academy now provides a half-day IMI Level 1 award in Hydrogen Vehicle Awareness. This course is suitable for individuals who may regularly encounter hydrogen vehicles in their day-to-day work. It covers various types of hydrogen vehicles, associated hazards, and guidelines for working safely around them, including refuelling procedures.
Dasos Michaelides, Autotech Training’s Head of Business Development in Ireland, emphasises the increasing presence of alternative fuel cell vehicles on Irish roads. “It is imperative that the automotive aftermarket possesses the appropriate skill set.
“Beyond the necessity for training to adeptly and securely handle these novel vehicle types, effective communication with customers investing in electric and hydrogen cars is equally paramount,” he says.
The IMI Level 1 award in Hydrogen Vehicle Awareness half-day course is available through the AA Training Academy, powered by Autotech Training in Dublin, priced at just €260 plus IMI certificate fees.
